ROME – Some Serie A clubs are fighting to block relegations to Serie B.
These companies appeal to the coronavirus emergency .
The initiative of these top flight clubs has sent Clemente Mastella , Mayor of Benevento and great supporter of the Giallorossi, to a rage.
“The idea of blocking the relegation from Serie A in the event of a new championship stop puts us alarmed.
It gives us many concerns.
We would face ethically and sportingly unbecoming behavior .
In this case, we will take action, if so, with legal actions, democratically gathering fans and sportsmen.
We would report to the competent offices of both the Italian and international sports courts and the ordinary and administrative judiciary things that have neither head nor tail ".
This was stated in a note by the mayor of Benevento, Clemente Mastella.
“We are alarmed because artfully someone could sabotage the resumption of the competitive phase that begins in June and in fact block the championship by not allowing Benevento what has been achieved on the field.
I believe it is right to give Benevento what has not arrived by concession but by results and sacrifices, "adds Mastella.
"My closeness and that of the city to President Vigorito, to the coach Inzaghi and to the players is without reservations and where I should find unjust modalities that transgress sporting and ethical principles – he concludes – I will be in the front row to mobilize myself and how many will be with me against this eventual ignoble decision that I hope will never occur ".
