BERGAMO – Assign the 2019-2020 Scudetto to Atalanta . A proposal in the air for weeks, in favor of Bergamo of the ball in the quarterfinals of the Champions League and of Bergamo that fights against the Coronavirus emergency as one of the provinces most affected by the slope, now become the subject of a petition to the Lega Calcio of series A on Change.org.
To promote it, with online collection of names and signatures, Franco Cascio on behalf of the 'Scudetto alla Dea' Committee:
“As is known, the Covid-19 emergency has also stopped the Serie A football championship and, at present, it seems very unlikely that it will be able to start again.
Among the advanced possibilities there is also that of not assigning the 2019-2020 title – reads the motivations on the Change platform -.
Our proposal, however, is to assign the 2019-2020 Scudetto to Atalanta, both for the sporting merits demonstrated on the field especially in the last two years, and to pay homage to the city of Bergamo, a symbol of Italy that suffers due Coronavirus ".
