This is Shobushi, stage name of Kiyotaka Suetake , a 28-year-old athlete belonging to the fourth division of the category.

Kiyotaka Suetake died of complications related to the disease: the Japan Sumo Association (Jsa) has made it known.

The wrestler, the Japanese media said, had tested positive on April 10 and his condition had worsened nine days later, local media reported, so much that it was necessary to hospitalize in an intensive care unit in a Tokyo hospital.

Shobushi, who is also the first victim of Covid-19 in Japan in the 20-30 age group, had turned professional in 2007.

His coach, the Kiyotaka Suetake coach, and a training partner also turned positive, but their condition has improved and they have already left the hospital.
