Coronavirus, Fiorentina and Sampdoria announce new cases of Serie A positives

ROME – Football tries to recover in phase 2 of the coronavirus emergency, but new positive cases are already emerging for the Sampdoria and Fiorentina teams.

A frozen shower for football and the Serie A that are preparing to start again from 4 May.

If in fact the world of Italian football is busy trying to plan a possible restart of the championship, the new positivity to the coronavirus raises new questions.

The names of players and technical staff who tested positive for coronavirus tests were not disclosed.

However, the two companies promptly communicated the news of the new cases on their websites.

Sampdoria Calcio, three new positives and a return of positivity

On May 7, UC Sampdoria reported that three new coronavirus positive cases had emerged after testing for the players' covid-19.

In addition, a return of positivity was noted for another person in the club.

Sampdoria says that all four positives are currently asymptomatic.

The subjects are in quarantine and will be constantly monitored as per protocol.

Fiorentina Calcio, 6 new positives between players and staff

Six people tested positive for the covid-19 test in Fiorentina Calcio on 7 May.

They consist of 3 players and 3 people from the club's health and technical staff.

The purple team has announced the six new cases on its website.

The note reads: "Following the laboratory checks carried out yesterday afternoon, ACF Fiorentina announces that 3 athletes and 3 from the technical-health staff positive for Covid 19 have been identified".

"The Company has proceeded, as per protocol, to continue the isolation of the people involved," he continues.

"Tomorrow morning, the medical-sports views are scheduled for the beginning of the optional field activity", concludes the note.

The names of the players were not disclosed.
