MADEIRA (PORTUGAL) – No return to Italy for Cristiano Ronaldo . The champion of Juventus remained in Madeira because Portugal, with a government decree, canceled all flights to and from Italy.

The phenomenon of the Portuguese national team is located in Madeira to be close to the mother Maria Dolores Aveiro who is following the path of rehabilitation after having had a stroke.

Decree that is practically a photocopy of the one issued by Spain a few hours earlier. The Iberian decree had led to the cancellation of the Europa League matches, which were initially set for next Thursday, Seville-Rome and Inter-Getafe .

Also due to this decree, the Champions League match between Barcelona and Juventus is also at high risk. Ronaldo could be forced to stay in Portugal until the restrictions laid down in this government decree end.

So Cr7 will miss the Champions League game between Juventus and Lyon? Granted and not granted that the race is played regularly, Ronaldo could reach Turin by taking more means of transport. He could arrive in a nearby country and then reach Turin by train or bus.

Below is the Juventus press release on Cristiano Ronaldo.

"As already happened yesterday, Cristiano Ronaldo has not trained and for the moment remains in Madeira, Portugal, awaiting developments related to the health emergency currently underway for Covid-19."
