MILAN – Inter pressing on Ashley Young. Conte has requested the purchase of the Manchester United footballer who is able to play both as a full back and as a midfielder, a joker that would make the Nerazzurri squad even stronger. Young has been with United since 2011 but this year he is playing less than last seasons. It may be the right time to buy it.

Before retracing Ashley Young's career with clubs and with the English national team, we report a curiosity. Young was born in Stevenage (city of Hertfordshire) and attended the same school, Henry Newman, of Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton. As children, they played football together. Young is one of the fastest players in England and yet Hamilton has sworn he is faster than he (and he did not speak behind the wheel …).

During his long career, Young wore only three shirts: that of Watford, with which he made his debut in the Premier League, that of Aston Villa, where he stood out at high levels, and that of Manchester United, where he won seven trophies.

With the Watford shirt, he played 110 games scoring 22 goals, with Aston Villa he took the field 190 times scoring 38 goals, with Manchester United he played 261 games making 19 goals. Throughout his career, with clubs, he has played 561 games scoring 79 goals. Important numbers for a footballer who is often employed as a winger but who is not born as a striker anyway.

With the shirt of the English national team, Young has taken the field 39 times scoring 7 goals. He was also part of England in the time of Fabio Capello. The former Roma manager highly appreciates him and said it would be a real blow for Inter.
