Serie A, Cts denies lightening measures: “Quarantine remains two weeks”

ROME – The Technical-Scientific Committee denies a relaxation of the measures in case of positive virus of players or staff of Serie A teams: the imposed quarantine remains for two weeks .

"It appeared in the national press, supported by some well-known representatives of the world of football – reads the note reported by La Repubblica – the news that the CTS would have agreed with the sports authorities, first of all the FIGC and the Football League, not only the procedures and protocols for the reopening of the championship, but also the reduction of the possible forty-year period to which players and team staff submit positive results to the diagnostic test for the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus or their closest contacts, assuming only one precautionary quarantine week, instead of two universally recognized weeks. ”

In the press release, the CTS reiterates “with force that there are no alternatives to what is represented in each location, for each type of activity and for each type of subject, with regard to the resumption of these activities, in full compliance with current regulations and scientific evidence that these rules have helped to generate. "

Therefore excluded the possibility of a "special treatment, except for some categories of people and activities, such as football professionals, as well as for other team sports that involve prolonged physical contact.

All this is misleading and provocative, tending to create a climate of low trust in the reliability and ethical and scientific rigor with which the CTS has faced and continues to face the complex technical problems related to the progressive reopening of the country, in the context of the strengthening of the territorial and hospital sectors of the national health system and of the monitoring indicators established by the Ministry of Health in consultation with the regional administrations ".
