REGGIO EMILIA – Rome in crisis, Sassuolo in seventh heaven. The Giallorossi continue their nightmare start to 2020, while the neroverdi hit their third consecutive useful result by moving the relegation zone away. The game was one-way tonight. Sassuolo ended the game already in the first half taking advantage of the defensive gaps, but also in the midfield, of Roma. The neroverdi went at a hundred per hour and penetrated centrally like blades in butter.

Veretout and Cristante played very badly, not guaranteeing defense coverage, but Mancini and Smalling also did not express themselves on their usual levels. If the Englishman managed to defuse some attacks by his opponents, the same cannot be said of Mancini who made two very serious mistakes on the opponents' first and third goals.

Sassuolo-Roma 4-2, the Giallorossi's 100th Edin Dzeko goal is not enough.

Caputo has unlocked the game with a dribbling against Mancini and with a place that has left Pau Lopez no way out. Shortly thereafter, Caputo's second goal arrived, to finalize a perfect restart of the hosts. Roma went down by three to zero because Mancini rose late, leaving Djuricic in a regular position. So the Sassuolo striker had no problem beating Pau Lopez by two steps.

In the second half, taking advantage of Sassuolo's rest, Roma tried to get back into the game. First Dzeko took a pole on the bank of Smalling, then on the continuation of the action, the same Bosnian center forward scored a header on a cross by Lorenzo Pellegrini realizing the 100th goal with the yellow and red jersey.

In the moment of maximum thrust, Pellegrini commits a naive foul by remedying the second warning and then the expulsion. But this numerical inferiority, does not discourage the Giallorossi who also manage to move on two to three. Peres crosses, Boga takes it with his hand, it's rigor.

From eleven meters, Veretout is not wrong. Roma pulled out of the match a few seconds later. Peres loses the man, Boga arrives near the penalty area, dribbles Pellegrini and beats Lopez with a powerful shot on the second post.
