ROME – In the late evening of Thursday 6 June, Brazilian striker Neymar appeared in the police station in the northern area of Rio de Janeiro to be interrogated by investigators. In the video, in fact, Neymar had released intimate photos of the girl committing a crime that could cost him from one to five years in prison.
Having left the bus on crutches due to the ankle injury that will prevent him from playing the America's Cup, Neymar crossed the human tide of journalists and fans rushed to the occasion in a wheelchair: "I just want to thank them for all the support I received, I feel really loved, "said Neymar shortly before entering the police station.
The interrogation lasted just under two hours and, according to the Brazilian press, it concerned exclusively the video released by the player and not the allegations of violence, for which he will be heard in Sao Paulo where the complaint was lodged. "Neymar wanted to come as soon as possible to clarify what was due – his lawyer, Maira Fernandes said – We are confident of proving our client's innocence."

Najila Trinidade Mendes de Souza – the 26-year-old Brazilian woman who accuses Neymar of having raped her in a Paris hotel last May 15 – did not find any lesions in the genital area. The news portal Uol has announced, connected with the Brazilian daily Folha de Sao Paulo. According to the newspaper, which had access to the document, the only wound on the woman's body was found on the finger of her right hand.
