Lucescu renounces to train Dinamo Kiev after just four days, that’s why

Lucescu dreamed of a comeback in Ukraine instead his experience as coach of Dynamo Kiev lasted just four days.

Lucescu wanted to return to Ukraine and was over the moon to have reached an agreement with a prestigious club like Dynamo Kiev.

Too bad that his enthusiasm did not last long. In fact, immediately after the signing he was challenged in all ways by the fans of the Kiev team and was bitterly criticized also by several old club glories.

A few days after signing a two-year contract to train Dinamo Kiev, Mircea Lucescu leaves office.

The reason for this was given the same 74 year-old Romanian coach: the Ultras of the capital of the team are making life difficult, "and around me has created a hostile environment too."

The long contest (12 years) on the bench of Shakhtar Donetsk, arch-rival team of Dinamo at the helm of which he won 22 trophies from 2004 to 2016, is the reason for the tough dispute unleashed against the former Inter coach.

"I really wanted to go back to work in Ukraine – said Lucescu – but for me it would be impossible to work under these conditions. So I give up. "

Lucescu is not the only coach in football history to be contested even before he starts.

The same happened to Sarri when he signed with Juventus as a few years earlier he had coached Napoli's bitter rivals but he held on and was able to win the first league title of his career (source ANSA-AFP).
