Jimmy Greaves (ex Milan) hospitalized, it could be coronavirus

LONDON (ENGLAND) – Fear for Jimmy Greaves , record bomber of Tottenham and the English national team and former Milan footballer.

The ex-attacker, now in his eighties, is hospitalized since tonight and Tottenham , who broke the news, gave no indication of whether it is coronavirus or other problems.

Greaves was part of the national team that won the 1966 World Cup at home, the only one in England, and with 44 goals in 57 games is the fourth all-time scorer of the national team of the three Lions.

His 357 goals in the British top division are still a record.

Injured during the World Cup, he recovered in time for the final but was preferred to Goeffry Hurst , author of the two of the four goals with which England beat Germany.

Greaves played for Nereo Rocco's AC Milan shirt in the '61 -'62 season, scoring nine goals.

Greaves is a Chelsea youth product . He made his professional debut with the Blues and remained for four seasons scoring 132 in 169 games .

He played for only a year with Milan , then returned to England to wear the Tottenham shirt for a total of 267 goals in 381 games .

Jimmy ended his career with another West Ham club in London. In his last team, he played 40 games scoring 13 goals (source ANSA).
