Coronavirus, fan breaks isolation: Aek Athens pays fine

ATHENS (GREECE) – A happy misadventure for a fan of the Greek team of Aek Athens at the time of the Coronavirus.

To betray the 60-year-old supporter was the mad desire to see the work of the new stadium of his team , forgetting, however, the mandatory exit permit of these times also in Greece.

As he usually does, the fan had decided to take a walk near his home in Nea Filadelfia, on the outskirts of Athens , to see the progress of the work on the new 32,000-seat AEK plant which will be inaugurated next year.

But forgetting the movement certificate cost him dearly, because the police stopped him by imposing a fine of 150 euros for violating the rules on the pandemic from Covid-19.

However, his favorite team took care of paying the fine on the initiative of the owner of the Aek Dimitris Melissanidis, who also wanted to give the fan a season ticket for the next season.

"We stay home, we are in good health and our new stadium will be there and will wait for us when we pass this test," wrote the club on its website.

2011 are Coronavirus cases reported so far in Greece, where 90 people have died. (ANSA-AFP).
