MILAN – A few hours before the Champions League match against Tottenham, Radja Nainggolan spoke in a long interview with France Football where he refused the bad boy label and where he dealt with various issues concerning his private life. His statements are reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport.
Nainggolan: "I'm not a bad boy even if I smoke and drink"
"I consider myself a normal person – says the Inter midfielder in the issue of tomorrow's French weekly – and not a bad boy as I am labeled. They do not think like a footballer or a public figure. I can walk in the worst neighborhoods and live normally. I can accept the favors you make to the players, but it's not something I'm looking for. I shop at the supermarket, I can drink a glass and smoke a cigarette without hiding. Even a football player can smoke even if he does not do a normal job. If you hide yourself for something, it means that you hide others. It is not my way of life ".
Nainggolan: "My sister is gay and since she is happy I am too"
"My twin sister is a homosexual and she is very happy like that, so I am too. A person's future and happiness can not be decreed by someone else. I accept everyone, it's my way of seeing things ".
Pochettino: "Turnover against Inter"
"We have the chance to fight for important goals. Having many games over a concentrated period of time means fighting in different competitions. From a certain point of view it is excellent but we will have to be good in the rotation of the players for not having problems. Also tomorrow, against Inter, we will rotate ". Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham coach, Inter's opponent in the Champions League tomorrow, hopes in the redemption after the defeat at the San Siro in the first leg, aiming at supporting the fans at Wembley Stadium, but he knows he has to deal with a tight schedule.
The English club is third in the standings with 4 points, while Inter is second to seven. A ranking that does not give margin for error to the Spurs. "Our fans are very important. I will always have them in my heart – says the coach during the eve conference – and I hope tomorrow in a full stadium ". Then on individual players: "Alli has a winning mentality, he loves being under pressure. Vertonghen has trained well and can play, while Son we have to manage it differently ".
