MILAN – Arturo Vidal approaches Inter. The Nerazzurri have reached an agreement with the player but there is no white smoke with Barcelona. Vidal asked Inter 13.5 million euro, which is the amount he would earn with Barcelona until his contract expires in 2021. The Nerazzurri are willing to give him this money but by spreading it on a contract with one year more, then up to to 2022. The Chilean accepted this compromise to return to play with his old teacher at the time of Juventus Antonio Conte.
There is instead a distance in the negotiation between Inter and Barcelona. The two clubs agree on the formula of the loan with the right of redemption but not on the figures. The Nerazzurri are offering a ransom for twelve million euros, while Barcelona are asking for at least twenty.
The only way to get to the white smoke is to come towards it. Inter will have to raise its offer slightly, while Barcelona will have to lower, albeit slightly, its economic demands. Also because the Chilean is a separated at home in Barcelona and has already decided to leave in January.
It wouldn't make sense to keep him in Barcelona as there is a club with a strong interest like Inter Milan to sell him to. In addition, the Nerazzurri are not rivals of Barcelona even in the race for the Champions League as they are relegated to the Europa League.
