ROME – Vincenzo Iaquinta vents on social media to denounce the conditions of his father, detained in prison, in this health emergency: "Assuming that my father is innocent , this is a drawing of a cell in the Voghera prison – he wrote on Instagram the former world champion by publishing a handmade plan – How do you keep the safety distance? ".

Then the appeal to the institutions, with a tag to the Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, and to the Minister of Justice, Alfonso Bonafede.

The court of Reggio Emilia in 2018 had inflicted two years on Vincenzo Iaquinta , a former striker of Juventus and the national world champion. He had been involved in a case of non-custody of weapons, regularly held but left in the past in the availability of his father who could not have them due to a prefectoral measure.

The parent, Giuseppe, a Calabrian businessman who moved to Reggio Emilia, had been sentenced to 19 years for mafia association. In 2015 he was arrested in the maxi-operation 'Aemilia' and also the house of Vincenzo, in Quattro Castella, was searched by the carabinieri, precisely for weapons. Even for him the accusation was heavy and the Prosecutor had asked for six years, contesting that he had facilitated, with his conduct, the criminal consortium of which his father is part.
