Ultras Cagliari attempt to assault Neapolitans, damaged hotel (Ansa)
CAGLIARI – Moments of tension in the late morning in Capoterra, 20 km from Cagliari, between a group of Napoli and Sardinian supporters. No confrontation, but only damage to the doors and windows of a hotel.
A dozen Neapolitan supporter was a guest of a residence and was preparing to go out and reach the Sardinia Arena to watch the game. A group of supporters of Cagliari, about twenty people, has reached the hotel, trying to enter to attack the other opponents.
Bad fright for Napoli fans
The Naples fans barricaded themselves in the rooms, while the Cagliari, some armed with sticks, tried to break through the doors. The agents of the flying team of Cagliari and the carabinieri intervened on the spot.
When the police arrived at the residence the Cagliari fans had already escaped, not before having damaged the residence's doors and windows. The Napoli fans were then escorted to the stadium. The police started the investigation of the episode.
