MODENA – Ewan won the eleventh stage, Conti retained the pink jersey and Viviani decided to retire early from the Giro d'Italia after a series of disappointments. The Australian Caleb Ewan won the 11th stage of the 102 / o Giro d'Italia of cycling, from Carpi (Modena) to Novi Ligure (Alessandria), 221 km long, in the sprint. Ewan had also won on the Pesaro straight, on May 18th. Valerio Conti has kept the pink jersey, which he wore on May 16th in San Giovanni Rotondo (Foggia), after the 6th fraction.
