ROME – The stages of the Tour of Italy 2019 have been officialized.

The Giro will start Saturday, May 11, from Bologna, and will end on June 2 in Verona. The 102 / a rosa race has 21 stages, for a total of 3,518.5 km: it will run almost exclusively in Italy, with only one crossing (in San Marino), three time trial and five stages of high difficulty, with Gavia and Mortirolo. Grand finale in the sumptuous stage of the Verona Arena. There is also an arrival at San Giovanni Rotondo, in the 6th stage.

There will be three stages against time, six for sprinters, seven hill and five mountain, for seven arrivals uphill and 46 thousand meters in altitude. Fausto Coppi will be celebrated on the centenary of his birth; Leonardo da Vinci, 500 years after his death; Indro Montanelli, Padre Pio and Gioacchino Rossini. The arrival in L'Aquila will remember with emotion the 10th anniversary of the earthquake of 6 April 2009.
