SYDNEY – Todd Reid died at age 34. The Australian tennis player won Wimbledon junior in 2002 . The Australian federation announces the terrible news. The statement does not clarify the causes and apparently at the moment no investigations have been opened to ascertain the causes of death.

Produced by Nick Bollettieri's academy, Todd Reid seemed destined for a career as a protagonist when in 2002 he won the junior title at Wimbledon, an edition that saw the participation of future stars such as Marcos Baghdatis, Tomas Berdych and Jo Wilfried Tsonga. Numerous injuries, however, halted his ascent, never being able to go beyond the number 105 position of the ranking despite being for years the number three of Australia behind Lleyton Hewitt and Mark Philippoussis.

In 2004 his best tournament resulted in the third round at the Australian Open when he was defeated in the third set by Roger Federer.
