ROME – Joost Vandendries, Belgian speed sky champion ( speed skiing), fell disastrously in the World Cup final in Andorra. The Belgian athlete, who last March broke the National speed record (218.45 km / h), reported the beauty of nine fractures, a fairly substantial injury. Joost Vandendries will be forced to stay away from the races for many months. However, Joost Vandendries did not get down and on his official Facebook profile he played the role: "I will come back stronger than before".
Speed or kilometer launched skis, is the second fastest non-motorized sport.
The speed skiing (speed skiing in English), also known as flying kilometer (abbreviated as KL), is a ski specialty that is to get off a slope in strong inclination to try to reach maximum speed. As Wikipedia writes this is detected at the lowest point of the track in a 100 m timed section. It is the second fastest non-motorized sport (the first is speed skydiving) and the first on land.
