"Ours was a spontaneous action from the start, not a protest gesture," said Norwegian athlete Katinka Haltvik. According to the regulations, players must take the field wearing trousers "at least ten centimeters above the knee". The players are instead required to wear a bikini bottom that has a maximum width of ten centimeters in all. Too short for the Norwegians, who will now have to pay a fine of 1500 euros. Full support for the team came from the Norwegian Handball Federation, who commented on Twitter: “We are very proud of these girls who raised their voices and said that too much is too much!
