ROME – The Serie A football league has established awards for the best players of the season this year. The ranking considers the races held so far in Serie A, those of the Italian Cup and the Italian Super Cup. Here are the winners: – Best goalkeeper: Samir Handanovic; – Best defender: Kalidou Koulibaly; – Best midfielder: Milinkovic-Savic; – Best striker: Fabio Quagliarella; – Best young: it will be announced today at 8.30pm; – MVP – Best player ever in the 2018-'19 championship: it will be announced today at 9 pm (source: Ansa).
Serie A, here are the players who played a memorable season.
Samir Handanovic has played an extraordinary season between the posts of Inter. During the season he also "stole" the captain's armband from Mauro Icardi. Spalletti elected him as leader of the Nerazzurri's locker room. Koulibaly was awarded as the best defender of Serie A because he played an extraordinary season in the ranks of Napoli.
Carlo Ancelotti considers him an unreliable footballer. The best midfielder of the season was Sergei Milinkovic Savic from Lazio. The Serbian midfielder scored one of the two goals that allowed Lazio to win the Italian Cup in the final against Atalanta.
The best striker of the season was Fabio Quagliarella of Sampdoria. The blucerchiato bomber also found the national team to the sound of goals and was preferred to Cristiano Ronaldo.
