ROME – Chelsea , third in the standings, will visit Liverpool leaders. There is great excitement for a game that will decide, or at least address, the fate of the Premier. An expectation that however was spotted on the web by a racist video of London fans, which immediately became viral. A film, that of some Chelsea fans that before the game with Slavia Praga in the Europa League, sing "Salah is a bomber", a play on words to give the Egyptian striker of Liverpool, and former Blues, of the 'bomber', clear reference to Islamic extremism. The Stamford Bridge club has already expelled three of the identified supporters, waiting to track down the others.
Liverpool, on an official note, called unacceptable that there are still certain types of discrimination. "The video that circulates on the net, which shows vile discriminatory choirs addressed to one of our players, is dangerous and disturbing. This season we have already witnessed disgusting episodes of discrimination in stadiums in England, Europe and around the world; records recorded and published through various devices. We are also witnesses of numerous and hateful attacks on social media. This type of behavior should be called for what it is: pure and simple fanaticism ".
"Liverpool Football Club – continues the note – believes that it is the duty of the authorities to intervene urgently with all the procedures necessary to identify and punish anyone who commits a hate crime. In football and civil society there is no room for these actions. The victims of all this are not just individuals, but the whole community, so a decisive reaction is needed. Regarding the latter incident, the club is working with the police to ascertain the facts around this video, in order to identify the individual subjects. Furthermore, we are working with Chelsea Football Club on the matter. We thank Chelsea for their condemnation and their commitment to act immediately to identify those responsible.
