Rome, Vertonghen or Lovren transfer market for the after Smalling

ROME – At home in Rome , it is already time for a transfer market.

Smalling , the best defender of the Giallorossi with wide detachment, should leave the capital at the end of the season.

Paulo Fonseca would like to keep him at all costs but Rome is not in control of his destiny .

Smalling arrived in the capital last summer with the free loan formula.

This means that the Giallorossi have neither the obligation nor the right of redemption at the end of the season .

Such a formula can be a double-edged sword.

It is positive in the event that the player had played badly but is extremely negative in the opposite case.

Unfortunately for Roma, Smalling was among the best Serie A players so Manchester United has no intention of selling it off.

The English club has yet to decide whether to keep it , to deploy it as a starter, or whether to sell it to earn a rain of millions of pounds .

In the event that United's economic demand turns out to be excessive , Roma would try to buy another defender from the Premier League.

For the Giallorossi, the names of Jan Vertonghen and Dejan Lovren are mentioned , two players out of their respective clubs.

Vertonghen would accept the Giallorossi only with the Champions League, while Lovren would say yes even without because he wants to return to play with continuity.
