ROME – The head of AS Roma James Pallotta met the CEO of Fienga, coach Fonseca, DS Petrachi and councilor Baldini in Siena to set the transfer market strategies of the Capitoline. The American patron has given the ok to his managers to close the purchases of Alderweireld and Higuain on his terms.

The Giallorossi have frozen Mancini's purchase from Atalanta precisely because they received an opening from Tottenham for Alderweireld. The Belgian defender has a cancellation clause of thirty million euros that will expire on July 25th. Roma has no intention of paying this sum for a 30-year-old player who is due to expire in 2020.

Pallotta has instructed its managers to close the deal for about 12 million euros. The American president has not ruled out the possibility of including Zaniolo in the negotiations. In that case, Rome would receive a rich balance from Tottenham because obviously Zaniolo is worth more than Alderweireld both for age and for technical qualities.

The Giallorossi would like to keep Zaniolo another year but in the event of a transfer they would prefer to give it to Tottenham rather than to rivals of Juventus. Relations with the Bianconeri are excellent but the Giallorossi would not like to give their jewel to a club that is "hated" by Roma fans to avoid other environmental problems.

The problem lies in the fact that Zaniolo, in the case of farewell to the Giallorossi, would only accept the transfer to Juventus (with which he would already have an agreement on salary and contract duration).

The other hot name in the Giallorossi is Gonzalo Higuain. Juve would sell it willingly in the capital but he wants to exploit the interest of the Giallorossi for the Argentine to get Zaniolo in exchange. Roma would like to take it at a discounted price, but without immediately giving up Zaniolo.
