ROME – Roger Ibañez is about to become Roma's second acquisition in this transfer market after Matteo Politano (who arrived in the capital thanks to an exchange on par with Leonardo Spinazzola). Roger Ibañez comes from Atalanta for around 10 million euros. The formula is that of the interest-bearing loan with the right of redemption in favor of Rome.

Bologna also liked Roger Ibañez but in the end it was the player himself who preferred Roma. Evidently he is convinced of carving out a space for a three-man defense or of being employed in the turnover to make the owners Smalling and Mancini catch his breath.

In Atalanta, Roger Ibañez found very little space and made just two appearances in two years. According to Gasperini, the player is not yet ready for a competitive championship like that of Serie A.

Atalanta fished it from the Brazilians of Fluminense and bought it for four million euros. Now the Nerazzurri are reselling it to more than double so they are realizing an excellent capital gain despite having never practically taken the field.

Before arriving in Italy, Roger Ibañez highlighted himself in Brazil by Sergipe and Fluminense. He played two games with Sergipe, while he played 33 games with Fluminense scoring two goals.
