ROME – Rome president James Pallotta has summoned sports director Ricky Massara, external consultant Franco Baldini and sales manager Francesco Calvo to Boston, with a past at Juventus, to plan the Rome of the future. Baldini, who is Pallotta's right-hand man, advised the American president to hire Sarri as a coach in case the former Napoli coach was exonerated by Chelsea.
Rome, Sarri is the number one goal for the bench. Giampaolo the first alternative.
The number one goal for the Roma bench is Maurizio Sarri. Baldini convinced James Pallotta. The consultant and Sarri have a friendly relationship that has been going on for many years. As Il Corriere dello Sport writes, when Franco Baldini was still a prosecutor he often helped Maurizio Sarri find a team when he was not yet at the top.
In particular he favored his passage to Pescara, in the 2005-06 season. Sarri's and Baldini's sons inherited their passion for football from their parents and work together for a scouting company. If Chelsea should not exonerate Sarri, Roma, on the advice of Sarri himself, would run on Giampaolo, a coach who did very well on the Sampdoria bench and who still awaits the big jump on a prestigious bench.
