Poland-Italy with the fans at the stadium, return to normal (or almost) for one evening

Poland-Italy was played at the Energa Gdansk stadium in Gdansk with almost ten thousand fans in the stands.

Poland-Italy with the fans at the stadium. Almost ten thousand. For one evening we returned to normal. Or almost since they were fans with masks anyway.

But otherwise there was no lack of flags, color and noise. The stadium choirs. Which was normal before and now seems like science fiction to us.

As said by the Rai commentators, these things now seem strange to us. As if the new normal were games that seem to playstation.

Zero noise, zero folklore, only 22 people in shorts on a soccer field. with as many players on the bench, naturally with a mask.

For one evening we put all this in the drawer and went back to a real football match. With the whistles for the Italian players as we played in Poland.

But among the ten thousand Polish supporters, there were also some Italians. In fact, Rai has caught a blue fan complete with a tricolor flag. A good feeling.

But this looks set to remain an exception. In fact, the coronavirus has returned to hit the whole world with ferocity. The reduction in cases experienced in the summer is now a distant memory.

The coronavirus, which has always been there, is back in full force. Tonight's match could be the last with the fans at the stadium.

In Poland too the situation is worsening and from tomorrow everything should return to our new normalcy. Which is now the true normality. That is, no fans at the stadium.

Only 22 people on the pitch who move as if they were a video game. Without people at the stadium but with people cheering for them from behind a monitor. As it happens in video games.
