Mbappé skips Atalanta-Psg but Icardi is sure to get through: “We will reverse the club’s European history”

No Atalanta-Psg for Mbappé . The French center forward will not be able to recover from his injury in good time but Icardi is still sure to pass the round.

Now it's official: Kylian Mbappé will be forced to miss the Champions League quarter-final match (unique challenge) against Atalanta, scheduled for Wednesday 12 August.

It was Paris Saint-Germain himself who communicated it, with a tweet on his official account.

According to the French champion club, the player will have to stay still for three weeks due to the ankle injury remedied in the French Cup final against Saint-Etienne.

He could therefore return on 18 August if PSG qualifies for the Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid or Leipzig.

Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel's team will play the final of the French League Cup against Lyon, Juventus' next opponent.

“On the day of the draw, I realized that, on our side of the board, there was no team that had already won the Champions League. On the other hand, however, there are only former champions: all together.

But, be careful, because the teams in our part of the board all have our same ambition, that is, to finally win this tournament and change the course of history ".

So Mauro Icardi, in an interview with France Football, talks about PSG's upcoming European commitments: the French team, in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, will have to face off against Atalanta.

"The goal of the club is to reach the final, which is why it has invested in recent years – adds the former Inter center forward -. We are three games from our goal and all together we will do everything to reverse the story ".

On the relationship with coach Thomas Tuchel, Icardi said:

“In a way, he gave me the keys to PSG, if I may say so. We both talk a lot. He tells me how he sees things, he gives me many tips to improve myself. We have an excellent relationship.

Neymar? People can see it differently from the outside, but the reality is completely different. We know exactly what kind of player he is.

And, when you really know the man, you can only get along with him, because he is far from the stories reported in the media.

Great players are the first to lead by example. He is an always happy boy who gets on very well with everyone. He is really humble. What I just said about 'Ney' also applies to Mbappé. " (source ANSA).
