No Atalanta-Psg for Mbappé . The French center forward will not be able to recover in good time from his injury but Icardi is still sure of going through.
Now it's official: Kylian Mbappé will be forced to miss the quarter-final match (single match) of the Champions League against Atalanta, scheduled for Wednesday 12 August.
It was Paris Saint-Germain himself who communicated it, with a tweet on his official account.
According to the French champions, the player will have to remain sidelined for three weeks due to an ankle injury sustained in the final of the French Cup won against Saint-Etienne.
He could therefore return on August 18 if PSG qualifies for the Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid or Leipzig.
Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel's team will play the final of the French League Cup against Lyon, Juve's next opponent.
“On the day of the draw I realized that, on our side of the draw, there was no team that had already won the Champions League. On the other hand, however, there are only former champions: all together.
But be careful, because the teams in our side of the draw all have the same ambition as us, namely to finally win this tournament and change the course of history ”.
So Mauro Icardi, in an interview with France Football, talks about PSG's upcoming European commitments: the French team, in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, will have to face Atalanta.
"The club's goal is to reach the final, which is why it has invested in recent years – adds the former Inter center forward -. We are three games from our goal and all together we will do everything to reverse the story ”.
On his relationship with coach Thomas Tuchel, Icardi said:
“In a way he gave me the keys to PSG, if I may say so. We both talk a lot. He tells me how he sees things, gives me a lot of advice to improve myself. We have a great relationship.
Neymar? People may see it differently from the outside, but the reality is completely different. We know very well what kind of player he is.
And, when you really know the man, you can only get along with him, because he is far from the stories reported by the media.
The great players are the first to lead by example. He is an always happy guy who gets along very well with everyone. It is very humble. What I just said about 'Ney' also applies to Mbappé ”. (source ANSA).
