VITERBO – Francelino Matuzalem was hospitalized in a confused state at the Belcolle hospital in Viterbo. Matuzalem has a long career behind him in Italy with Lazio, Napoli, Bologna, Genoa and Piacenza. According to viterbonews24.it, the former Brazilian midfielder arrived by ambulance in the health facility on Friday, but he only heard about it in the last hours. The causes of his state of health are still unknown.
Matuzalem has a long career in Serie A
In his career he has played a total of 524 games, scoring 55 goals. He took his first Italian steps in Naples. He then continued his career in Serie A with the shirts of Brescia and Piacenza. His excellent Italian performances led him to Shakhtar Donetsk, a club with a great tradition both in Ukraine and internationally. After three years in Ukraine, he moved to Spain to Real Zaragoza. Here he was noticed by Lazio who wanted to bring him back to Italy.
In the Capital he played five brilliant seasons, the best of his career. Before hanging up his boots, he had three other level experiences in Italy with Genoa, Bologna and Hellas Verona. After Matuzalem he flew to the United States and finally ended his career among the Lazio Monterosi amateurs.
