ROME – On the afternoon of May 28, 2017 Francesco Totti retired from playing football.
Shortly before his now famous speech, the former Roma number ten handed over his last captain's armband to a ball boy.
The lucky one is called Mattia Almaviva ( here the video ).
On that day, all the captains of the various youth teams of Rome were summoned to the Olympic Stadium .
Almaviva was at the stadium representing the Giallorossi chicks of which he was captain.
Today, three years later, little Mattia still plays in Rome but has gone up in category up to under 14.
Also in this new category, it is highlighting itself with level performances.
Evidently Totti had seen us right in giving him such a historic and important captain's armband .
Behind that gesture, there were already clues to the future will of the former Roma number ten.
In fact, Totti has opened a procurement agency with the dream of finding new talents from the world of football.
The former Roma captain explained it to Dazn's microphones during an interview with Diletta Leotta.
"I don't want to be a prosecutor, this doesn't interest me …
I want to deal with scouting: I'm going to travel the world to find some promising young people. "
