MILAN – Other than the Bosman ruling, Beppe Marotta wants to revolutionize the transfer market regulation. The managing director of Inter has released the following statements to Sportweek explaining what his revolution would consist of: "Everything should be liberalized, the value of the cards zeroed, at least starting from the 25th year of age".
In other words, players over the age of 25 would be free on a free transfer at the end of each season and could easily get married in the club that guarantees them the highest salary. There would no longer be "slave" players on long contracts signed with the clubs. So all the players over 25, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Icardi, Lukaku and many other names, would have a zero market value.
Marotta makes a different speech for those under 25 who would acquire even more value. In this case, the players would be owned by the clubs up to the age of 25. Therefore, according to this reasoning, the market value of a young champion like Joao Felix would remain of 126 million euros while that of Cristiano Ronaldo would not be 100 million but zero.
A singular speech that no one had yet made up to now. Marotta firmly believes in this reform and will bring her idea to the competent forums.
If the current market had these rules, Mauro Icardi would have already signed with Juventus, just as Edin Dzeko would have already signed a contract with Inter. All this without paying a euro either in the cases of Inter, or in those of Rome because according to the idea of Marotta these two players over 25 would be free on a free transfer at the end of each season.
