NAPLES – Diego Armando Maradona used his profiles on social networks to congratulate Dries Mertens. Thanks to the goal scored against Frosinone , Mertens hooked Diego Armando Maradona in the all-time scorer list of Napoli in Serie A at 81 goals. The Argentinian coach congratulated Mertens with the hope that they will remain in Naples for many more years and that he will still score many goals.

Dries Mertens' father talked about the relationship between his son and Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti. "With Ancelotti there is a good relationship and my son tells only good things about the coach – said Herman Mertens to the microphones of Radio CRC – I hope Dries can stay in Naples for at least another year. At this moment, Dries has a great goal, to reach Hamsik to leave an impression in the history of Naples ".
