MARSEILLE (FRANCE) – Clashes brief but violent in central Marseille and the surrounding streets, among dozens of supporters of OM and Lazio, who had just arrived in town for the Europa League match at the Velodrome. According to witnesses cited by the local newspaper La Provence, "the Italians were dressed completely in black and some were armed with sticks and knives".
Eighty people would face each other in front of the Center-Bourse, a commercial area near the central Canebiere and the Old Port. Ready police intervention, already deployed for a match judged at high risk by the authorities, who used tear gas to disperse the groups of supporters.
The budget is three mild injured, two of them Italian. A police source claims that "the clashes occurred around 10 pm the day before the match, when between 60 and 80 Italian fans residing in a hotel went down to the Old Port".
But it did not end here because according to what some Lazio fans say, the weather would have been so tense after the clashes between the two fans that in front of their hotel would have been placed two crow heads in sign of threat.
cittaceleste.it has reported exclusively the story of a Lazio fan: "In Marseilles there was the hunt for Lazio. They stalked us to the pubs. And they were constantly turning to look for us. We could not leave the hotel because they were waiting outside. A shame like the one they had us find on the gates. Two crow heads ».
