LYON (FRANCE) – De Ligt was the unfortunate protagonist of the first half of Lyon-Juventus, a match valid as the first leg of the Champions League round of 16. The Dutch central defender was forced to leave the field in the 30th minute after receiving a blow to the head.
The former Ajax footballer was covered in blood and the referee invited him to leave the field as indicated in the regulation. Without De Ligt, Juve collected the goal of the momentary one to zero.
Lyon-Juventus, De Ligt comes out and the French score immediately.
In short, the Dutchman's exit from the pitch, albeit momentary, was fatal because Lyon immediately exploited this provisional numerical superiority to take the lead.
Aouar did good and bad weather on the left, then crossed in the middle where Tousart bagged in two steps in an undisturbed way. The Lyon player scored in an area of the pitch where De Ligt should have been.
However, fortunately for Juventus, the Dutch defender returned to the field after being medicated even if he finished the first part of the game with a showy bandage. In the meantime, Chiellini's recovery is booming and he is likely to come back in the next games.
