Lucescu gives up coaching Dynamo Kiev after just four days, that’s why

Lucescu dreamed of a return to Ukraine in a big way, but his experience on the bench of Dynamo Kiev lasted just four days.

Lucescu wished to return to Ukraine and was over the moon to have reached an agreement with a prestigious club such as Dinamo Kiev.

Too bad that his enthusiasm lasted very little. In fact, immediately after the signing he was challenged in every way by the fans of the Kyiv team and was harshly criticized even by several old glories of the club.

A few days after signing a two-year contract to coach Dynamo Kyiv, Mircea Lucescu leaves his post.

The reason was explained by the 74-year-old Romanian coach himself: the Ultras of the team from the capital are making his life difficult, "and a too hostile environment has been created around me".

The reason for the harsh dispute that has arisen against the former Inter coach is his long militancy (12 years) on the bench of Shakhtar Donetsk, the arch-rival team of Dinamo at the helm of which he won 22 trophies from 2004 to 2016.

“I really wanted to go back to work in Ukraine – said Lucescu – but it would be impossible for me to work in these conditions. So I give up ".

Lucescu is not the only coach in football history to be challenged even before starting.

The same happened to Sarri at the time of signing with Juventus since a few years earlier he had coached the bitter rivals of Napoli but he held out and was able to win the first championship of his career (source ANSA-AFP).
