Junior Sambia of Montpellier in intensive care, suspected coronavirus infection

ROME – "Digestive and respiratory problems", these are the reasons for the hospitalization of Salomon Junior Sambia , 23-year-old footballer from Montpellier , who has been in the hospital for two days in a specialized environment.

The French club announced this through a press release which appeared on official channels including social media.

The 1996 class, French midfielder born in Lyon, had obvious health problems that led to his immediate hospitalization in the city hospital.

The company did not speak openly about coronavirus but the symptoms would be, according to L'Equipe reports.

"Due to digestive and respiratory problems, one of our players was transported to the Montpellier hospital for two days in a specialized environment in order to receive the appropriate treatment", these were the words that appeared in the Montpellier statement.

If tests confirmed that the player actually contracted the coronavirus , it would also become the first case of an infection- positive Ligue 1 player .

So far in France there has been another situation of this kind but in Ligue 2: it is the South Korean Hyun-jun Suk, who plays in the ranks of the Troyes.
