ROME – Football is back in Italy.
First the Italian Cup on 13 and then the Serie A championship from 20 June.
Then the semi-finals of the Italian Cup , Juventus-Milan and Napoli-Inter will be played first , and then the championship.
The Italian government has decided to make a decision in line with that of Germany, Spain and England .
The sports minister Vincenzo Spadafora gave his ok after having received the positive opinion of the scientific technical committee on the health protocol presented by the FIGC.
The white smoke came at the end of the conference call between Minister Spadafora , the Football Federation, the Leagues and the associations of footballers, coaches and referees.
At the end of the summit, Minister Spadafora went to Prime Minister Conte to establish the precise date on which Serie A will restart .
The sports minister also made brief statements:
"Now there are the conditions to start again, nobody has ever wanted to hinder the world of football but first of all health comes".
The summit did not clear up all doubts, the knot remains on the free-to-air broadcast of "direct goals" and the new match times.
Spadafora asked Sky and Dazn to give the go-ahead to "direct goal" in the clear to avoid gatherings in bars and clubs.
Then there is the problem of match times in late summer with unbearable heat.
Footballers reject the idea of playing before 18.00.
Most of the games will be played between June and July , which is why players only want to go out on the pitch in the evening.
The Italian football association has proposed new times for the matches .
According to the AIC, the matches should be played in the time slot from 18.45 to 21.30 .
The parties will shortly make a decision to organize the match schedule between now and the end of the championship.
