Francesca Piccinini leaves volleyball : at 42, after experiences ranging from the Volleyball World Championships to photos on Playboy , after the season with Busto Arsizio, the player decided to say goodbye to the field. She announced it herself in an interview with Corriere della Sera.
“I didn't sleep there at night. I have thought and thought about it. It is difficult to break away from the life that I have led for almost 30 years and dreamed of since I was 8. It is hard for me to even say it… ”, he admitted.

After winning medals and championships since his debut when he was just fourteen, he is now thinking of another type of career, always in volleyball: "Busto Arsizio, my latest team, asked me to stay part of the project: in what role, yes will see. For the rest, I do not preclude anything: training the girls, commenting on volleyball on TV, those reality shows to which I said no when my days revolved around sport. One door will close, others will open, I hope ”.
However, at the moment one of her projects does not seem to include that of starting a family: “Motherhood and family do not occupy too many thoughts. Bringing a child into the world today is a great responsibility. I am in acceptance of what is to come. I'm single. It's hard to be with me. The man next to me has to make me feel better than I am alone. Not easy, ”he explained to Corriere della Sera.

In his career he has won everything, including world gold with the national team. At the same time there was no lack of 'digressions' such as the Men's Health calendar in 2004 and the photos for Playboy, passing through a participation in the Rai program Dancing with the stars.
Now he already sees his heir on the pitch: “I see myself in the determination and simplicity of Paola Egonu, who is 22 years old and full of talent. The naturalness with which he came out is his strength ".
