Former footballers and coronavirus: Xavi positive, Vucinic is cured

Mirko Vucinic had the coronavirus, but is now cured. Instead Xavi tested positive a few hours ago. The former Barcelona player trains Al-Sadd.

Former Roma and Juventus player Mirko Vucinic had the coronavirus but passed it with brilliance. He told Corriere dello Sport himself during an interview with Roberto Maida.

“I was in Montenegro, in Podgorica, I felt a bit of alteration: I had a fever of 38.2. Nothing special. In the following days the temperature dropped, so I was quite calm but given the period I preferred to swab: it was positive. I didn't take it well, honestly.

With so many people dying, even in my country where the situation is quite alarming, I was worried. It all seemed strange to me: I didn't have such severe symptoms, yet they hospitalized me in the Covid ward. Three days.

And when they released me, I started quarantine. After another 12 days they swabbed me again and it was negative. The virus was gone, just as it came. Mysteriously.

I was left with only a sign in the lungs highlighted by the CT scan. Fortunately, I had a mild form: I have never had respiratory crises or serious illness. And also in the family everything is ok ”.

Also Xavi among the former footballers positive for the virus.

Former Barcelona and Spanish international star Xavi Hernandez has tested positive for coronavirus. The news was announced by the Al-Sadd team coach himself on the Qatar club's Twitter account, adding that today he will miss the resumption of the championship against Al-Khor.

"A few days ago, following the protocol of the League in Qatar, I tested positive in the last test for Covid-19," said the forty-year-old coach, midfielder of the 2010 world champion national team.

Xavi recently put an end to the rumors that he was leading Barcelona, extending his contract at the helm of Al-Sadd for the 2020-2021 season.

“Fortunately, I feel fine, but I will be quarantined until everything is back to normal – he added – When the health services allow it, I will be very happy to return to my daily life and work. Today I won't be able to join my team for a return to official competitions ”.

He will be replaced by second-in-command coach David Prats. (source ANSA-AFP).
