LIVORNO – Mourning for the Italian cycling world. Walter Passuello died suddenly at the age of 68 after a fall in his Livorno shop. He was a professional cyclist for ten years, from 1976 to 1986. Walter Passuello died while he was working in the workshop in the back of his shop, it will be a coroner to clarify whether the fall was caused by an illness or not.
Who was Walter Passuello, from the Gazzetta dello Sport. Passuello had become a professional in 1976 with the Cuneo Cycling Club jersey, he then moved on to Zonca, Gis, Sammontana, Vivì, before returning to Gis and retiring in 1986 with the Atala shirt.
He had never won a race, the only team success in the time trial in Abruzzo (among his companions also Moser) in 1984. He then opened a bike shop with his wife. Walter's son Domenico, after being professional, dedicated himself to triathlon.
