ROME – Interviewed by Radio Cusano, the sexologist Rosamaria Spina spoke about the accusation of rape against Cristiano Ronaldo:
"Public opinion in general is very divided – said Dr. Spina – there are those who defend it by the sword and who is more cautious and prefers not to lose balance but still tends a hand towards him. Think of the Premier of Portugal who in his statement said that Ronaldo is a great professional, a great player who has done good to Portugal. And so? If it were true, the accusation of rape would be overshadowed because a great professional? Things that have little to do are mixed. Ronaldo is a man like everyone else and if he really committed this crime it is right that you pay ".
"It is plausible to think, in light of the accusations – explains the sexologist – that Ronaldo will face phenomena of anxiety or depression and therefore of decline also in the field. It may need psychological support. You could have an extreme act if you find yourself isolated. Whether the rape was committed, or if it was not committed, it finds itself in a difficult situation to manage. He could opt for "the extreme escape", the suicide that can become the only solution that can be seen as happened for non-famous people. "
