ROME – It could have been a tragedy during a youth football game, but the situation was resolved by the cold blood of a very young player, just twelve years old , saving the life of an opponent who had just lost his senses and had collapsed to the ground.
We are in Spain , during the challenge of the Tercera Andaluza Infantil category between San Fernando CD and Medina Balompié. Cristian Fernandez , 12, from San Fernando, helped an opponent, Daniel Delgado. Without thinking twice, he approached his opponent, turning on his side and opening his mouth to pull his tongue, so as to avoid suffocation , until the intervention of doctors, which allowed Daniel to recover. When the rescue arrived, Cristian moved away and, partly because of the strong tension, exploded into a desperate cry.
The baby hero player, explained: "I helped that child because I knew how to do it , I saw him play in a game in which Fernando Torres had lost his senses and had been rescued like that". The young footballer has received the praise of his coach, Leo Cornejo: "All the boys were scared, Cristian was brave and saved his life".
