ROME – Tennis , like other individual and team sports, was forced to stop because of the coronavirus.
The Governing Council of the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals), chaired by Andrea Gaudenzi, has in fact accepted the petition signed by a group of players, including Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, in which, after long meetings in Indian Wells also attended by representatives of the WTA (Women's Tennis Association), and therefore also of the players, were asked to stop the activity, which will not resume before the end of April, or for about six weeks.
The coronavirus has blocked tennis, here are the tournaments that will jump.
The Masters 1,000 tournaments in Miami, Montecarlo, Marrakech, Houston, the Barcelona Open, Budapest, Monaco, Estoril, Madrid and the Internazionali di Roma are therefore missing.
The Roland Garros tennis tournament has been postponed to September 20, the tournament on the green lawn of Wimbledon in England remains in the balance.
