TURIN – Save those who can … Gonzalo Higuain , Miralem Pjanic, Rodrigo Bentancur and Sami Khedira left Turin, where they were in solitary confinement, to reunite with their relatives around the world.
To leave the country, the four players had to prove their negativity to the coronavirus, through the results of the swabs. They could not have left otherwise.
Before these four players, it was Cristiano Ronaldo's turn. The Portuguese champion is stuck in Madeira, where he had gone before the Serie A and Champions League suspensions.
Ronaldo had returned to Portugal to closely follow the rehabilitation of his mother Maria Dolores Aveiro, back from a stroke.
Then Ronaldo wanted to return to Turin but was unable to do so because the Portuguese government issued a decree prohibiting flights to and from Italy. Photocopy decree of the one issued by Spain a few days before.
Now it's the turn of Higuain, Bentancur, Pjanic and Khedira. Higuain and Bentancur left Turin together. Both are headed for South America.
The two players flew away with a private jet that will make two stops, France and Spain, before reaching South America.
Higuain has made it known that he must reach the mother who is sick. Shortly thereafter, Sami Khedira and Miralem Pjanic also left Turin.
The former returned to Germany while the latter joined his relatives in Luxembourg.
