ROME – Serie A championship and all Italian football stopped (at least for now) until April 3. Everything closed causes coronavirus . The decision had already been made, but after the case of Juventus player Daniele Rugani , positive for the coronavirus, the definitive suspension of the championship will almost certainly come.

Juventus and Inter players will make 14 days of quarantine, but also the players of the other teams have stopped training. To open the front of the suspension was a request from the Italian footballers' association, which put forward the proposal to consider this stop as a holiday period .

The championship clubs will now meet on Friday and then with the FIGC on Monday 23 March, the date on which it will probably be understood what will become of this year's Serie A. According to the declarations of the federal president Gabriele Gravina, if the championship could not be concluded as foreseen in the calendar, the chances for the League and FIGC to be remedied would be three.

What will be of Serie A: the scenarios.

The first option provides for the "freezing" of the current ranking and the establishment of playoffs and playouts to decide on promotions and relegations with small tournaments between four teams. The second hypothesis consists in not assigning the Scudetto or relegating the last three classified to Serie B, but only guaranteeing the qualifications for next year's European cups. Finally, the last one foresees the "freezing" of the classification and the assignment of the Scudetto on the basis of the last complete day played (the 24th day), as well as for the relegations.
