LYON (FRANCE) – Champions League Juventus-Lyon should play behind closed doors despite Italy being one of the countries most affected by the coronavirus and for this reason it has stopped the football championship.

This decision puzzles Rudi Garcia , coach of the French club and former Roma manager: "But if football is stopped here, what sense does it play in the Champions League?".

The declarations of the former Roma coach are reported by corrieredellosport.it.

Rudi Garcia: "It makes no sense to play Juventus-Lyon in a country where football has stopped."

“I remind you that now all of Italy is a protected area. There are no more distinctions between red and non-red areas – said the former Roma coach -. And we should go to Turin on Monday.

The strange thing is that matches have been banned at national level and not those of the Champions League. I don't hide a certain perplexity but my opinion remains ".

The first leg, played in Lyon, was won by the hosts with a score of one to zero. The return should take place behind closed doors at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. Juve must seek a comeback without the support of its fans in the stands for the now known affair of the coronavirus.
