Coronavirus: Giancarlo, father of Dario Marcolin, has died

ROME – Giancarlo Marcolin died in Brescia from the coronavirus, he was the father of the ex footballer Dario Marcolin .

He was 75 years old and is one of the 921 registered Covid victims of Brescia to date included in the official lists provided by the health authorities.

Dario Marcolin has won nine trophies during his football career, he is now a coach.

Dario Marcolin was a central midfielder mostly employed in the role of director or as a meeting player role in which he made up for a certain slowness with a good game vision.

After hanging up his boots, Marcolin began his coaching career. Until now he has trained Monza, Modena, Padua, Catania and Avellino.

During his career as a professional footballer, between the club and the Under 21 national team, he has won nine trophies.

The seven conquered with the Lazio shirt are: a Scudetto, two Italian Cups, two Italian Super Cups, a Cup of Cups and a European Super Cup.

With the shirt of the Italian Under 21 national team he has won two category European football championships.

Marcolin was trained in the youth teams of Rigamonti and Cremonese.

During his professional football career, he wore the jerseys of: Cremonese, Lazio, Cagliari, Genoa, Blackburn (England), Sampdoria, Piacenza, Naples and Palazzolo.

At the moment Marcolin is one of the commentators of Dazn, streaming platform that broadcasts the matches of Serie A and Serie B.
