Coronavirus, Federica Pellegrini: the online auction was a success, 66 thousand euros for the Bergamo hospital

VERONA – Federica Pellegrini's online auction proved to be a success. The champion of Italian swimming has collected 66 thousand euros in just two hours .

This money will be donated to charity at the Giovanni XXIII hospital in Bergamo , the most affected by the coronavirus emergency .

At the end of the auction, Pellegrini wanted to thank the participants with these statements reported by corrieredelveneto.corriere.it.

«It went very well. I have to thank you because I never imagined such a thing. Thanks to those who worked behind the scenes, to us who were in the front line, we helped Bergamo in an incredible way.

I'm very happy: headphones not under 700 euros, suits for 5 thousand euros: I would never have imagined it.

We did good at a time when good is really needed. I am really very excited: we raised 66,100 euros in two and a half hours ».

Two days earlier, Federica Pellegrini had gathered friends and fans through this message posted on Instagram :

“I organized an online auction of 59 memorabilia – sports and otherwise – the proceeds of which will be entirely donated to the Bergamo hospital ASST Papa Giovanni XXIII.

❤❤❤ This auction will take place on Tuesday 14 April, from 15.30 to 17.30.   TOMORROW
